The Battle of Legnica took place between the kingdom of Poland and the invading forces of Ögedei Khan in 1241.
During the conflict, a young Templar soldier was taken prisoner by the victorious Mongols which would foreshadow the infuence of the Templar Order on the khagans and their Kheshig. Prince Asutai, a Templar and Genghis Khan's descendant, informed Bayan of the battle eighteen years later as part of his attempt to recruit the man.[1]
