During his reign as the King of Macedonia, the Templar-supported Alexander the Great had raised one of the largest empires in the ancient world and created a new Hellenistic civilization, by leaving Greek colonists behind in conquered lands.

As he continued to seize lands across Asia, it emerged that the successes he enjoyed could not be attributed to his military prowess alone. The Assassin Brotherhood discovered that the true force behind his empire was a powerful Piece of Eden known as the Staff.

A Babylonian Assassin named Iltani was tasked with ending his reign. She poisoned Alexander and removed the artifact from Templar control. After his death, the vast empire he had created was left divided.
