Croydon, also known as Croindene during the Medieval period, is a town and borough in southeast England. It was originally part of the county of Suthsexe before being grouped as part of Greater London.

History[edit | edit source]

Middle Ages[edit | edit source]

In 875, the Raven Clan shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir organized a meeting with her allies in Croindene to plan out their assault of Portcestre, in order to kill the Order of the Ancients Maegester Fulke and rescue Eivor's adoptive brother Sigurd Styrbjornsson.[1]

Victorian era[edit | edit source]

During the 19th century, the Templars held a strong presence in Croydon, mainly thanks to the establishment of Ferris Ironworks, a Templar-run iron factory, and a laboratory where the Templar scientist David Brewster conducted experiments on Pieces of Eden. In February 1868, the Assassins targeted both Rupert Ferris, the owner of Ferris Ironworks, and Brewster, and tasked the twins Jacob and Evie Frye with eliminating the two Templars.[2]

Following the assassinations of their targets, Jacob and Evie met with George Westhouse to report their successes and express their desire to strike at the Templars in London. After George advised them that they were not yet prepared to undertake such a mission, the twins decided to go behind his back and secretly hitched a train ride from Croydon to London.[3]
