The Spring of Rheitoi

The Spring of Rheitoi was a saltwater spring near the Sanctuary of Eleusis in the Sacred Plains of Demeter in Attika, Greece.

During the Peloponnesian War, the Spartan king Archidamos led the Athenian cavalry here,[1] and the people of the Sanctuary used the spring as a place of worship. It was also visited by the Spartan misthios Kassandra over the course of her travels.[2]
