Born on 21 January 1956 in Little Rock, Arkansas to First Presbyterian Church minister father Dr. James Stuart, Jeb grew up in North Carolina and graduated from Ashbrook High School. He later attended University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and graduated with Bacherlor's and Master's degrees, he also received a Masters of Arts in Communications from Stanford University. He formerly taught in the Writing for Stage and Screen Program at Northwestern University.[1] His first film credit was serving as the screenplay writer for Die Hard.[2]
