Isu?[edit source]
I don’t think Desmond’s throwaway mention is enough to categorize him as Isu especially since he isn’t a deity in Greek mythology. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 17:41, 14 December 2020 (UTC)
- Bump because I think Desmond is just bad with mythology. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 16:04, 11 April 2021 (UTC)
- The game outranks you, though. Vetinari(Appointment) 14:10, 13 July 2021 (UTC)
- But the "game" doesn't tell me that Sisyphos is an Isu; an unreliable narrator does. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 22:17, 7 August 2021 (UTC)
- Kinda agree with this point. Perhaps we can add that part into the Behind the Scenes/Trivia section of some sort. XOdeyssusx (talk) 04:21, 8 August 2021 (UTC)
- For all we know, Shaun Hastings told Desmond at the same time he learned the name Isu. Third-rate might mean Sisyphos is a Tainted One being few generations removed from Prometheus in legend. Might just be a joke about Desmond living the life of someone condemned to push a rock for eternity and foreshadowing his cheating death but we don't know. What we do know is that an Assassin's Creed source says Sisyphos is an Isu and nothing counters that so the page should reflect it. Vetinari(Appointment) 20:03, 8 December 2021 (UTC)

I disagree with this. Like Lacrosse, I feel Desmond is bad at mythology and is using the name as a throwaway line. With the exception of Bhudda and the Celtic demigod Lug, no human has ever been named as Isu. Every Isu thus far in the series has been an acknowledged god in various cultures or directly descends from one as is the case with Loki's son Fenrir—even if Eivor's Norse upbringing makes him appear as a wolf—not descended-but-a-few-steps-removed like a hybrid grandchild would be. – Darman (talk) 20:30, 8 December 2021 (UTC)
- Desmond being bad at mythology is an opinion, not a fact from the games (unless I've missed somethng) though. Vetinari(Appointment) 20:47, 8 December 2021 (UTC)
- The article currently does reflect as much as can be accurately sourced. To delve into whether Desmond is wrong or right is speculation so just mentioning what he said without extrapolating from it is all we can do. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 06:30, 9 December 2021 (UTC)
