Vitellozzo Vitelli survived[edit source]
Hey Lord KOT, I wanted to ask where did you find out that Vitellozzo Vitelli was not strangled to death by Michelotto after all, and if so, to please make sure to cite your source. Sol Pacificus(Cyfiero) 09:07, July 12, 2017 (UTC)
- Certainly. I've found it on this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zpZqeODUrx0 You can see his face at the end. Long live the Sith (talk) 13:43, July 12, 2017 (UTC)
- That video is edited by the uploader, certainly at the part where the face is shown. But also, I don't recognize the face as Vitelli at all. I had always thought the game had been pretty clear that we were meant to infer that it was Niccolò do Pitigliano. Sol Pacificus(Cyfiero) 14:32, July 12, 2017 (UTC)
- Perhaps you ought to compare the faces for closer inspection. I've noted some similarities. Long live the Sith (talk) 16:20, July 12, 2017 (UTC)
- The face shown there is exactly the one taken from the very beginning of the video, also seen here, and is of Bartolomeo d'Alviano. The clip says his name just as it pans over to the figure, and he looks exactly as he does throughout the sequence, even wearing his usual outfit. Even if it wasn't so clear it's Bartolomeo, concluding that it's Vitellozzo from mere facial similarity alone when the man's face is partially obscured by him looking downwards and his hand is flawed. But you're missing the most crucial point: The video was edited by the uploader. The placement of that figure just as that line is spoken is not original to the Assassin's Creed source nor is the uploader officially affiliated with Ubisoft. As a result, this is not a source we can use to draw conclusions even if it were not so clear that the figure is actually just Bartolomeo, which it is.

- I also want to point out that aside from the fact that it is a great leap to assume that Vitellozzo wasn't strangled to death, and he was somehow at the Battle of Agnadello when this is beyond historically inaccurate, the game heavily implies that the man who captures Bartolomeo is Niccolò de Pitigliano himself. The reason is because he was his co-commander, and so his face would be known to him very well, and Pitigliano is known for having abandoned Bartolomeo at the battle suddenly resulting in his loss. In history, he was making a correct call, and Bartolomeo offered battle when he shouldn't have, but the game's sequence of events implies that Bartolomeo fought as he did because he knew he had to defend the Shroud of Eden in Agnadello. Pitigliano's abandonment of him goes hand-in-hand with how he somehow winds up with the Shroud of Eden in the next memory and has to be assassinated by Francesco Vecellio, having revealed to be a Templar. The most correct inference would be that the man is Pitigliano. But do not neglect my main point that the figure is Bartolomeo, and you can't just jump to the conclusion that it's Vitellozzo by facial similarity with an obscured face that in video edited by a fan. - Then it seems I was mistaken. Long live the Sith (talk) 20:26, July 12, 2017 (UTC)
- It was an honest mistake. ^_^ No worries. 20:28, July 12, 2017 (UTC)
