Unauthorized Fanon edits

I would appreciate it if you did not edit on another user's Fanon unless you have been given permission by them to make changes.

Regardless of whether you have good intent or not, it is against the rules of the Fanon, and it can see you earning a warning and later, a ban.

The reason for this message is because if someone changes things on another person's creation, they may react in a negative fashion, and it would be best to avoid that.

This is just some friendly advice from one editor to another, seeing as I'm not a Staff member, considering I wouldn't like you to earn a warning for something which you're unaware of. Slate Vesper 20:36, April 20, 2012 (UTC)

kk thanks for telling me.I thought that seeing as you can acheive a badge by editing stuff i thought it was at free will. I take this on board. Thanks.

One thing I should also mention is that hunting for badges is also against the rules, as the wiki would rather see people making good edits over those who could just make tons of lesser quality ones for an immediate reward.

Re: Character

To make a character and add it to Fanon, what you need to do is go to the top of the page and find the button that says "Add a Page". What you'd have to do next is to type in "ACFanon:" in the box it shows, and then put the name of your character after the colon mark.

Once you've done that, you can add their story on the new page. The next step would be to add the Fanon template, which you can do by putting in "{{Fanon|"Your name"|FanCanon/FanNon-Canon|Character/Story/Animation}} in the source mode, at the top of the field. To go to source mode, when you're editing, look at the top for a tag that says "Source" and click on it, before you paste the code in.

For the parts in that have slashes though them, pick the appropriate type and delete the others. Slate Vesper 19:16, April 21, 2012 (UTC)

Umm...about the Fanon temp part, it goes like this(since you are confused I'll write the code for you):

{{Fanon|Coollew|type=|extra=Character}}

Im sorry to say this but im still confuzed. (im 15) I understand the part about making a page but i get lost about making thier story bit.. because i dont know if it would be FanCanon or FanNon-Canon.

Edits

Try to keep your edits to one page to a minimum. Your edits to your fanon article are cluttering up the activity feed and could easily have been done in one edit. Use the preview button to view your page before publishing. Thanks. Nesty ^{Contact me!} 17:15, April 23, 2012 (UTC)

Infobox

To get that to show up on articles, you should add the Character Infobox template to the page.

One way to do this is to click on "Templates" at the side of the editor and click "Add other templates" and then type in Character Infobox. Once it shows up, click it and fill in the spaces that show up before adding it to the page.

Also, make sure you sign your posts with four tide symbols (~) in a row. Slate Vesper 18:45, April 24, 2012 (UTC)
