Well, in the Assassination technique scene you do have Woodes and Julien providing several handy hints to Edward as he goes. Things along the line of "Quite ingenious to use bales of hay as cover, don't you think?" and "Your aerial kills have a poetic beauty, despite their conspicuous quality. Would you show us?".
