I rarely ever used the smoke bombs, I used the splinter bombs A LOT in Assassin's Creed Revelations though. It could be because of that but now we have running assassinations and I am guessing it would be executed similar to a high profile assassination when you're sprinting, except you'll just perform said running assassination.
