The limited ed. cover's (the 2nd one) knee pads looked as if they were native american style to me, also, the bow on his back may hint at being raised with native americans since the Americans and Brits maiinly used guns at that point, I think. P.S. don't hold me to this, I'm British, so know nothing of American history.
