What Juno said was that she needed sacrifice. Not once did she say that Desmond needed to mate with Eve, he only needed to find her. Plus Juno chose Lucy as the sacrifice in order "open the path, and the scales must be balanced." what the second part of that sentence means I have no idea yet.
