This is a very interesting topic Piratehunter that strikes at the core of what Assassin's Creed is all about and i'm glad you addressed it. I understand your reasoning for choosing the Templar side, however I most certainly am an Assassin. I disagree with your statement that there can never be true peace so long as free will exists. I have not completely lost faith in humanity and I believe that mankind can some how some day learn to transcend their basic primal instincts of anger, hate, and violence and be able to truly accept one another for who they are and not force their will upon others. Basically i believe that this, the most important and final step to our evolution has yet to be achieved but will someday. to quote the duplicitous Al Mualim"Peace is something to be learned, to be embraced, not forced" This to him was merely a lie he fed to Altair because of course he, like you Piratehunter, did not believe this would ever be possible. but I am here to tell you that I believe it is. Also let me assure you Piratehunter that the Templar's do still exist to this day, very similarly to how they are depicted in the AC games, mysterious and secretive yet at the same time right in front of our eyes. And they seek what you seek, order, dominion, control, peace. but at the ultimate price, our humanity. but they can never truly succeed because pieces of eden do not exist and thus they can never truly eliminate free will and thus people, however few, will find the strength to stand against them and I promise you I am one of them. for I am an Assassin and that is my creed.
