Swimming: Yes (following the pattern that you can swim in ALL games after AC II)

VERY VERY little story progress. Rumors say you will find a Mayan Temple. It might be the conclusion of Desmond's story but NOT the end of the series. (in an interview the a Ubisoft staff member said that Assassin's Creed was always planned to be a trilogy. Someone else said it might conclude Desmond's story but they might make more AC games.)

Well you WILL have to synchronize from viewpoints (in every game you do. The difference is that in AC 1 you cannot unlock assassination missions without investigating, and investigation missions are unlocked by synchronizing viewpoints and in others you can play through almost the entire story without this viewpoint stuff)

This frontier will have viewpoints as in every game, NO place has 0 viewpoints.
