I don't think Altaïr would still be alive. The idea sounds a bit stupid to me. You don't want to make all powerful like a God or something. I don't think he'll make an appearance in Brotherhood, but I think we'll definately see him in Lost Legacy, like memories. Who knows, maybe we'll even see a grave in Masyaf.
