Connor is supposed to be human. All Assassins bear resemblance to an eagle (while the French comic compares Templars to vultures), and Connor bearing resemblance to a wolf as well doesn't mean the eagle references are gone. The wolf references are from his native background, while the eagle references are from the Assassins, I'd say.
