Precisely, you could have the Templar start to make the move of power to the "unofficial" Knights Templar, and show the evolution of the Order, going through famous historical targets. Reshaping the Order permanently, after all they need to fight fire with fire in order to subdue the Assassins that lead to it's official decline.
