User blog:Martin Christopher Adamian/The Matter of Names

On the Assassin's Creed Wiki, we have to name our pages. I am specifically talking about naming characters. Should we name them based on Animus database entries? Or should we rely on how they are referred to in-game? Or do we get our information actual history rather than the game. One confusing example of this was the article for John Pitcairn from Assassin's Creed III. He is once called Jonathan by Haytham in Infiltrating Southgate. However, the Animus database and actual historical records refer to him simply as "John Pitcairn." So then which information do we select? And how do we recognise a developer's error? Thank you for your comments and answers.
