IRC has been deader than usual, lately. Community has been drifting apart, and I'm just not seeing what I used to see.

"What did you see before," you ask?

Community. I miss the Wiki community being a sort of family, of people not only editing together but making something of it, something more than just another wiki.

So, I issue a challenge to you all: I will develop a special interactive userbox to be issued to this Wiki's users. This userbox will do cool though yet undefined things. HOWEVER! It does not come free. In return for this userbox (or whatever you all decide is a much-needed contribution to the Wiki), I need 50 users to pledge that for three weeks they will do their level best to visit the IRC each day for at least 10 minutes and begin talking with another ACWiki member in an honest effort to learn something about them as a person. (Please disclose no compromising real-life personal information). This could be as simple as where in the real world they are to as personal as, say, what made them start editing for ACWiki.

The goal here is to get a jumpstart for the community, to get people talking and looking out for each other again. We used to have a community where people knew each others' problems, and while there were still fights and spats, we generally cared for each other. Mostly we were a conglomerate of squabbling siblings. "No one picks on my little brother/sister but me" kind of thing.

So, in short. Sign up in the comments and be honest. I can see the logs of the IRC, so I will know if people are showing up or not. If I find enough people are making that honest effort, why then you all get a new shiny toy. The challenge starts one week from this post. It's in your hands now, ACWiki.
