Talk:Seraffo
Ottomans category?[edit source]
Why are we listing Seraffo as an Ottoman? He's from Venice. If this is a new trend of adding the nationality that corresponds to the country the character is residing in, I'm not really down with it. It was the same with Maurice this morning (how is he American? just because he lives there doesn't make him one), but at that time, I didn't feel like going into it.
Sorry if I seem a bit short, I'm tired .-. So yeah, an explanation would be lovely. Crook The Constantine District 20:12, August 20, 2014 (UTC)
- I agree with Crook. I don't think adding "Spaniards" to articles when they aren't really Spanish at all (i.e. Had Iraqi parents or something, and just lived in Spain) is a good idea. Besides, we don't have Haytham listed as American, even though he took residence there in his later life (unless I've got that backwards). --Crimson Knight Intercom 20:17, August 20, 2014 (UTC)
That kinds of beats the point of them being 'nationality' categories... Being born in one place doesn't mean that is the nationality you keep. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 21:19, August 20, 2014 (UTC)
I disagree, cause I can see this becoming incredibly arbitrary; when does an individual gain the nationality of the place where they live/reside? After a year? A few years? Even longer? There's no evidence that Seraffo thought of himself as Ottoman either. Crook The Constantine District 06:16, August 21, 2014 (UTC)
