N. = Neumann?[edit source]
SPECULATION: I noticed that in the phone conversation in Rift cluster #4, the first speaker begins the conversation saying "V., it's N. I need Turing done today." V., the second speaker, may or may be Warren Vidic, but the first time I heard that conversation, and heard Speaker #1 identify himself as N., I was wondering if N. stood for Neumann. Thoughts? — M.C.Tales 19:54, March 28, 2011 (UTC)
- It's possible, though highly unlikely in my opinion, giving the nature in which the Neumann is mentioned. --Jasca Ducato Council Chamber Assassination record 13:36, March 29, 2011 (UTC)
- I've done a little research on this and I'm convinced that Neumann is actually the computer scientist John von Neumann. Neumann is responsible for the 'invention' of computers and his computers implement a Universal Turing Machine. Co-incidence? Neumann also specialises in Quantum Mechanics. I wonder, and this is speculation, if Leila Marino was in fact assassinated, since her death seems suspiciously like a cover-up of some sorts. I wonder if perhaps she had discovered something within Neumann's theories/work/writings that imposed a huge threat, such as time travel or even freezing time itself for instance, and if she unveiled it, it cost her her life. At least some part of the explanation of her 'suicide' would be true, that she died because of someone called 'Neumann.' It would seem strange that Abstergo would go to such lengths as to hide details of her death if it were simply a suicide.

- Why would Werren Vidic even mention Neumann? Its like he's showing Lucy the trail of bread crumbs. Could Warren be questioning his own motives?Phatombomb 15:09, May 30, 2011 (UTC)
- Entirely possible. Also, in the first game, if you get access to the conference room and read the files there, Alan mentions other Pieces. One of them seemed to have control over time. There he explicitly mentions the fact that all time-controlling artifacts must be contained as per Abstergo/Templar regulations. Antaria 17:09, September 24, 2012 (UTC)
