Can we not get a better quote? The current one seems to me as if its implying the Loyalists were ignorant, it otherwise unable to understand the gravity of their allegiance to the Crown. Bit too POV, in other words. --Jasca Ducato Council Chamber Assassination record 00:42, October 16, 2013 (UTC)

I wanted to emphasize Native and African Americans were Loyalists too, and Connor not falling in line with the rest of the Mohawk. I thought it was a sympathetic quote myself. But by all means, this is a Wiki, if you want to pick another one, do so. --Alientraveller (talk) 10:03, October 16, 2013 (UTC)
I've changed it. I think this one does a better job of showing why they were Loyalists. --Jasca Ducato Council Chamber Assassination record 11:35, October 16, 2013 (UTC)

Merge with British Army[edit source]

Not sure about this, but perhaps this should be merged with British Army given that all Loyalists in the game are just British soldiers. I know technically the term Loyalist referred to civilians loyal to Britain as well. Sol Pacificus(Cyfiero) 04:30, February 24, 2017 (UTC)

"Loyalists, also known as Tories, Royalists or King's Men, were the faction of citizens in the Thirteen Colonies of North America who had sided with the British Crown during the American Revolution, and the subsequent war." This article is about the civilians who made up the Loyalists, not the British Army. --Jasca Ducato (talk | contributions) 10:36, February 24, 2017 (UTC)
I know, hence why I said Loyalists refer to citizens loyal to Britain as well. The possibility of a merge came to me because our navigation box on AC3 treats Loyalists as a constituent within the British Army, which reminded me that AC3 specifically used the term Loyalists as the gameplay term for British soldiers, which would be the only case for a merge. Similar subjects can still go under one article for organizational purposes, and I thought that if AC does in terms of gameplay, equate Loyalists with British soldiers, there might be a case for it despite them correctly being distinct. I also feared that using the correct definition of Loyalists against the video game would be "original research" given that we apparently prefer the French Knights Hospitalier over Knights Hospitaller for this reason. Buuut I just double-checked that the database entry in AC3 does in fact correctly describe Loyalists as not exclusively referring to British soldiers, despite the game manual, so I'd be against a merge, but we need to fix the navigation box. Not all Loyalists are members of the British Army. Sol Pacificus(Cyfiero) 11:37, February 24, 2017 (UTC)
