Would it be possible for someone to photoshop (or something) maps showing the locations of each glyph? A big task, I know, but it would make finding them all easier for other players.EEA 17:12, November 26, 2009 (UTC)

I don't think that a particular glyph always matches up with a particular puzzle. I suspect that the puzzles come in a particular order, regardless of which order in which you find the glyphs. Rallion 22:13, November 27, 2009 (UTC)

Under the glyph "Infinite Knowledge", the second photo. The top left corner. The magnified picture shows a ton of numbers. they read:

(the picture is "The Flames from its throat POKE out their eyes") --Subject18

65 110 99 105 101 110 116 32 99 105 116 121 44 32 82 97 106 97 115 116 104 97110 44 32 73 110 100 105 97 44 32 105 114 114 97 100 105 97 117 101 100 32 98 121 32 80 111 60

The last number is actually 69 changing the last word of the message to PoE (Capital intentional)- Most likely Piece of Eden --Subject18

When translated from decimal to ASCII format, those numbers spell out "Ancient city, Rajasthan, India, irradiaued by Po<". Maybe some of the numbers did not come over correctly? --Kain2749 06:09, December 2, 2009 (UTC)

I believe so, 117 seems to have been actually 116 and it would be "Ancient city, Rajasthan, India, irradiated by PoE" --IonutRO

I assume the maps in the guide are copyrighted, and we couldn't scan them in to add to the Wiki? As far as the puzzle solutions go, however, I suppose we could just reword them as much as possible. Or quote them and cite the... is there a website for the guide? I mean, I hate to sound paranoid, but... :/ Any suggestions/thoughts, anyone?

Ahh, crap. I forgot to add my signature again. That last comment was from me. --Aftyn 08:55, December 2, 2009 (UTC)

I don't see any reason we cannot just have instructions on how to complete each glyph, though they would have to be very detailed, which could pose a problem. I have played the game through about 10 times, and the glyph puzzles always come in the same order, no matter which ones you find. It could be possible, but as I said, we need to be very detailed. J.h.jaraub 13:51, December 2, 2009 (UTC)

In "The first pictorial representation of a gun. 900" (Hint: This MONSTER did not come from man) A binary code is hidden, converting it to ASCII reads: (Endlines included)

Sumerian.► Me► 23. --Subject18

In that context, Sumerian Me 23 is talking about weapons, as was the rest of the imagery in that Glyph. Sumerian Mythology has many "Me"s that basically represent different aspects of humanity.--Kain2749 04:48, December 3, 2009 (UTC)

Instructions would be a good idea, I agree. My original thoughts were just about the solutions themselves, though, not how to actually find the answers in each puzzle. Though yeah, creating such instructions would be pretty involved. D: --Aftyn 05:21, December 3, 2009 (UTC)

I did it the hard way and after finding all the letters, realized his encoded system is knocking every letter back two. subject 16 is a U.Q.D. This glyph is the one which discusses Tesla in the picture Nickola Tesla c. 1900

A=y B=z C=a D=b E=c F=d G=e H=f I=g J=h K=i L=j M=k N=l O=m P=n Q=o R=p S=q T=r U=s V=t W=u X=v Y=w Z=x

JG WUGF KV VQ FGXGNQR C DQVVQONGUU UQWTEG QH GPGTIA. VGNGHWPMGP YKTGNGUU UVCVKQP.

which translates to:

he used it to develop a bottomless source of energy. telefunken wireless station. --Subject18

In the picture "Leading the YOUNG to their end" there is another code sequence:

41 6e 74 69 6b 79 74 68 65 72 61 20 4d 65 63 68 61 6e 69 73 6d 2c 20 6d 75 63 68 20 6f 6c 64 65 72 20 74 68 61 6e 20 31 35 30 20 42 2e 43 2e 45 2e

This is in Hexadecimal format and translates to:

Antikythera Mechanism, much older than 150 B.C.E. --Subject18

In the glyph on Hitler the letters in the picture read "AOL KVBISL DHZ RPSSLK PU AOL IBURLY" Just count back seven letters in the alphabet to get "THE DOUBLE WAS KILLED IN THE BUNKER" --Xkgbx

One of the puzzles on Glyph 19 requires you to find Earth inside the sun. I don't know whether this is obvious or not, but this is most likely referring to sunspots, which are known to be planet sized, and are a common '2012 theory', which is a common plot theme.

Locations[edit source]

Each glyph are not linked to a specific Truth File. The Truth File are unlocked by the order the player discover the glyphs. Which means: if the player discover the first glyph at San Giacom Di Rialto Glyph, it will unlock the Truth File 1.--PhantomT1412 18:08, December 6, 2009 (UTC)

I suggest separating the list of locations and the list of solutions, since the puzzles aren't necessarily linked to those glyphs. One list can name the building on which the glyph is found, what the glyph is (ie. the info from the "List of Glyphs" section and (ideally, in time) also display a picture of the glyph's location in the game. The second list would have the Solution and Story/Secret Messages columns, and maybe also pictures of solutions if they become available. I haven't contributed to this Wikia before, so I'm just putting the idea out for more regular users to approve. --Hoogathy 14:12, January 17, 2010 (UTC)

I agree. Separate lists would make them easier to find and work out. Also, in the Code-Wheel ones, maybe there should be a hint before the complete answer, as there is usually a hint in the pictures. (eg for the Ford one ||** = 2, for the war one < = 4) --Enodoc 15:17, January 17, 2010 (UTC)

What does this mean[edit source]

could soeone actually say WHERE the glyphs are rather that "while standing on a roof it's on a wall, SAY THE ACTUAL LOCATION ON THE SPOTWHERE THEY ARE i'm looking for the oe near the ship that takes you to venice and one the roof t's on a wall isn't good enough.

Here is a map of the feathers, represented by a green 'X', and also glyphs, represented by a red 'G'. Here's the link: [1]

Abstergo Logo on American Flag[edit source]

I would love to see that picture, as a conspiricy theory lover and critic it would be nice to take a peek! Spoonodeath 02:51, February 13 2010 (UTC)

Glyph 12 is wrong[edit source]

On the final puzzle of glyph twelve, you must set it to 2= II** *=a dot76.17.101.159 21:19, January 11, 2010 (UTC)

There is something written on the sun in the last Glyph, in the top left corner.

However, my TV is too poor to make out what it says. But there is white text that is very hard to read there.

No, on the henry ford car there is a number 2.76.17.101.159 21:19, January 11, 2010 (UTC)

how do you solve truth file 12?

Enough Pictures?[edit source]

do you think there are enough pictures to get rid of the "not enough pictures" template? ^_^ Spoonodeath 15:17, February 14, 2010 (UTC)

Pictures of Glyphs and map[edit source]

I have them but I am not sure how to input the coding on the page can someone help me?

Too Vague[edit source]

The descriptions in this article for the places are too vague. For example, one says to look for it by climbing a base lookout tower. This is about as vague as telling someone to look for something 'at a tall building in new york'. There are several things in the area that could be called a lookout tower, one of which you can't actually climb without being auto-teleported off the boat due to an annoying 'are you sure you want to go to venice' pop-up.

For future reference, call it a lighthouse. That's what it is. Silvermistshadow 21:57, March 27, 2010 (UTC)

I personally believe that the title, as well as any major/professional use of the name(s) of these to be in all caps: GLYPH. or as the title of the article is plural: GLYPHs. My reasoning behind this, is that not only are they professionally used in-game in all caps, but they are also meant to represent a file format (.GIF, .JPEG, .WMP). To give a more direct example, a good ex filename would be: Eden.GLYPH you get what I'm saying. :P --Piratehunter (TalkContribs) 17:24, August 4, 2010 (UTC)

Some info about them in brotherhood here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QidQF2SNedE, just to tired and lazy to add it myself :P DanMan7308 18:56, October 20, 2010 (UTC) DanMan7308

Some Changes[edit source]

Just a few points:

  • First, I'm going to go ahead and (try to) separate the locations from the puzzle descriptions. I suck at wikia-editing, but I'm going to see what I can do.
  • Second, we're missing some of the hidden messages, specifically from puzzle # 19. I can't remember all of the translations, so I'm going to try and figure it out myself.
  • Third: "Explains that in order to stop this future event (i.e. the return of Those Who Came Before to enslave humanity), all Pieces of Eden must be found and used together." This was in the Info section under Glyph # 19. -_- If anyone has paid attention to the story, I shouldn't have to explain why this is wrong. So I'm fixing it.

The first two will probably take a little while, but I'm going to try not to leave anything half-done. Any objections, let me know. 98.192.42.30 04:21, October 14, 2010 (UTC)

In fact, I may just go ahead and re-do most/all of the Info sections. 98.192.42.30 04:29, October 14, 2010 (UTC)

I completed this after a while...and i still feel that Creepy feeling in all this

Ancient City, Rajastan, India, Irradiated by PoE[edit source]

In Glyph 4 it makes mention of an ancient city in India that was irradiated by a PoE. This is a reference to the ruins of Harappa which existed in 3000 BC. These ruins were discovered to be covered in a layer of radioactive ash and contained translations in a temple which mentions them praying to be spared from a great light that had come to ruin the city, leading to historians theorising an ancient, atomic-level society.

Suggested Structure for Page Revamp[edit source]

This page is asking for a revamp, so I thought I'd outline a proposed structure.

  1. Intro: What Glyphs are, who made/placed them, links to AC1's Cryptic Messages and ACB's Rifts (which are described seperately, since this page is exclusively for AC2's Glyphs).
  2. Glyph Locations: The opening spiel provides maps of the appropriate districts, then a table listing the name of the landmark, precise descriptions (eg "on the north face at the base of the tower") and a screenshot of the actual Glyph.
    1. Descriptions of what the individual glyphs are (Eye of Re, etc) should be linked back to the AC1 Cryptic Messages page. There's more room for a precise description there, and we don't want doubled-up descriptions.
    2. The AC1 Cryptic Messages page should be updated to mark which Messages are also Glyphs, maybe with an extra column in the table.
  3. Glyph Puzzles: This section is broken up into sub-sections, named Glyph #1 through Glyph #20. The opening paragraph explains how the puzzles are delivered in order, regardless of the order in which the glyphs are discovered. Each of the individual Glyph sections are broken into the following:
    1. Puzzle #: Glyphs may have multiple puzzles to solve; eg, matching paintings followed by a Caeser Wheel. Sequences without puzzles (such as simply moving the cursor over a diagram) are put underneath a single puzzle heading
      1. Primary Puzzle: This is the puzzle you need to solve to access The Truth film. I prefer having a sort of "layered" solution where we describe the problem, then describe one part of the solution to give the reader a "boost" to where they need to go before actually spelling out the solution. For "Match the pictures" puzzles, we could list the paintings involved in a later section or on a different page.
      2. Shaun's Advice: The full quote of the advice Shaun gives if you're stuck.
      3. Hidden Text: These are the bursts of binary and other stuff that are hidden within the pictures that you can see, but don't advance the puzzle. This describes where to identify parts of the puzzle, how the messages are encrypted, and finally the full text of the message. (Unencrypted text is also described here, without the need to decode it.)

Appropriate screenshots, especially of the completed puzzles, should all be included.

I'm writing a revamp of the article using this structure offline, and I've taken several videos to try and capture everything. This will, of course, take a while: how does this sound to people? Smoke3723 07:40, January 4, 2011 (UTC)

This would be an excellent rewrite. I'd be happy to help out.

WileCoyote 18:52, May 7, 2011 (UTC)

I've taken the basic idea of Smoke3723's suggested rewrite and implemented it; at the very least now the location information is removed from the sequence of tabbed solutions!

WileCoyote 20:00, May 8, 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for the vote of confidence, Wile. My video-capture software didn't work as well as I'd hoped, which has stalled my efforts. );
I think a better way to get the narrative going is to present it in the order it's presented to the player, as is currently done.
Smoke3723 09:27, June 15, 2011 (UTC)

Categories[edit source]

Currently this page is in the AC:Brotherhood and AC:Brotherhood Gameplay categories. Unfortunately, this article doesn't contain anything offering in-game hints for AC:B. Therefore, I'll be removing the AC:B Gameplay category.

The question then becomes: do we keep the AC:Brotherhood (non-Gameplay) category? Certainly this article describes information that is revealed in AC:B, but it's mostly as a pointer to the Rifts article where most of the AC:B information is.

If we do include the AC:Brotherhood category on this page, then we need to also add the AC1 category (again, not the AC1 Gameplay category) because this article also includes the same sort of introductory narrative from the AC1 stuff. Smoke3723 00:42, June 26, 2011 (UTC)

who do you find all of subject 16 puszls

the "martyrs" glyph scared the hell out of me.

Has anyone noticed that the number under the bar code glyph is 12/21/2012? Because considering all the stuff that's discovered in Brotherhood, it can hardly be a coincidence. 72.202.137.145 00:38, September 17, 2012 (UTC)Assassinkam
