Olivier Gay
Olivier Gay (born 1979) is a French author of crime and fantasy novels for adults and children, he is also a comic book writer.
He also writes humor posts for the women's magazine Cosmopolitan and has collaborated on over a hundred novels for the Bibliotheque Rose and the Biblioteca Verte.

Early career[edit | edit source]
Gay begun as a strategic marketing consultant in Paris. His first novel, Les talons hauts rapprochent les filles du ciel released in 2012 won first prize for best crime novel at the Festival international du Film policier de Beaune (English: International Beaune Crime Film Festival). The novel would start the Fitz series and had two immediate follow-ups, Les mannequins ne sont pas des filles modèles released in 2013, and Mais je fais quoi du corps? in 2014. A fourth installment, Trois fourmis en file indienne, was released in 2015.[1]
His first fantasy novel Le Boucher released in 2012, was nominated for the Révélations Futuriales prize.[1] His young adult novel series Le noir est ma couleur was a finalist for the 2014 Histoires de Romans prize,[2] and won the 2015 Prix Chimère des Collégiens prize.[1] His 2016 novel series La Main de l'Empereur was a finalist for the Best French Novel prize at the Festival des Imaginales.[3]
His other awards include the 2016 Lecteurs en Seine prize and the 2016 Ados Hautes-Pyrénées prize for his young adult novels. Gay has also adapted various films into French-language novels and comics.[1]
Assassin's Creed[edit | edit source]
In January 2021, an Amazon listing for a new novel Assassin's Creed: Fragments – Japon was leaked online with Gay revealed as the author.[4] Information was scarce until April when it was officially announced as a standalone trilogy. The full title was revealed to be La lame d'Aizu translated as The Blade of Aizu for the English version. The novel was released on 15 April, with two others to follow written by Alain T. Puysségur and Adrien Tomas, respectively.[5][6]
