Hyacinthos: "I threw it off the cliffs, into the sea."
Kassandra: "Malaka. Guess I'm going for a swim."
—Hyacinthos informing Kassandra of the bracelet's whereabouts, 420s BCE.[src]-[m]

During the Peloponnesian War, Hyacinthos and his partner visited the Sanctuary of Sounion. Wanting to impress Hyacinthos , Laios stole a Makedonian bracelet left there as an offering to the gods, and gave it to him.[1]

However, Hyakinthos was appalled by Laios' deed, and angrily threw the bracelet off the cliff into the sea. The couple argued, and soon afterwards, they were approached by the Spartan misthios Kassandra, who asked them for the bracelet's whereabouts. Hyacinthos told her of the bracelet's whereabouts, leading her to dive down the sea and retrieve it[1]
