In my opinion, Ezio Auditore da Firenze is my favorite. I also have other honorable mentions, Connor Kenway, and Aveline de Grandpre. I like Connor because he is a badass but  in the game ha barely has a personality that I like, as well as Aveline. On the other hand, With Ezio Auditore we got a good connection and sympathy for him since we've seen him from his birth all the way to his death. He is also has a mild sense of humor which I like and he is such a badass with such words that can amaze you. In the begginging of AC2, you start out in a fight with a guy that said an insult and he responded "well that's not what your sister told me last night". HAHAHAHA. In addtion, his last letter to sophia was also very deep, here it is.

"When I was a young man, I had liberty, but I did not see it...I had time, but I did not know it...and I had love, but I did not feel it. Many decades would pass before I understood the meaning of all three...And now, in the twilight of my life, this understanding has passed into contentment. Love, liberty, and time - once so disposable are the fuels that drive me forward, and love was especially mia caro...For you, our children, our brothers and sisters, and for the vast and wonderful world that gave us life and keeps us guessing."

Endless affection, mia Sophia.

Forever yours,

Ezio Auditore.

There ya go, that's why I like him so much! Carbheat3 (talk) 20:15, January 4, 2015 (UTC)

Aveline de Grandpré.
I don't see any sense in hiding my bias towards female characters lol. Though honestly, it's more the potential of her story, and all the things we don't get to see from her that fascinate me. The dual lives, the constant social pressures, the twisted relationship with her Mentor, the pure and unachievable (in her lifetime anyways) goal of seeing all slaves freed - delicious :3 Even if her story never was as complex as the other entries, I feel she was still treated respectably, so props to the writers for that at least.
As for honorable mentions, I enjoyed Connor, Edward and Shay all for different reasons. Connor I fell in and out of love with, and then in again after replaying AC3 :P It's the Homestead missions mostly, I think.
Edward's charm won me over, despite being totally disinterested in him during all the advertising that was going pre-release (the fact that his game was good and had a wealth of colourful side-characters for him to interact with helped). Shay too proved interesting, though I took a bit longer to warm to him (the charming troublemaker archetype is wearing out its welcome now a bit tbh). I liked how he stuck to his values and didn't turn into this ruthless killer the pre-release material depicted him to be. Crook The Constantine District 20:32, January 4, 2015 (UTC)
I think Nikolai Orelov is my favorite. I like how he transforms from a gentle young man to a cold ruthless killer who doesn't care anymore. One of the other things that make him a good character is the fact that he spends decades fighting for a cause he doesn't even necessarily believe in. And despite all that, he still keeps going.
I'd also like to see more of Eseosa. I like the idea of how an Assassin plotted for decades to begin the Haitian Revolution, only to lose nearly everything in the process. The Initiates writers did a good job on his story, especially the bittersweet ending.--Bovkaffe (talk) 20:45, January 4, 2015 (UTC)
