What do you think about rumor that "Comet" (PS3,XBOX360 game) is set around 1758 in North America, with a lot of sailing around eastern seaboard and Templar protagonist named Shay.

What I think and some of my ideas for the game:

I think that's a very good idea.First, playing as a templar is something new,I always wanted to play as a templar and for most games (exepct 2 and brotherhood) templars seemd like better guys than assassins.Playing as a Templar would also bring something new and fresh, something that series really needs.About sailing and naval combat.I'm defenetly for sailing and naval combat, but it needs to be done properly.I'm probably the only one who thinks that sailing in AC4 wasn't that great and it could've been so  much better(cmon no chain shot and you are a pirate who needs to board the ship to get the plunder not sink it,also no grape shot,no fire shot, you have semi-automatic canons, ridiculously big canon arks with no point of positionig your ship, because you can hit enemy ship from every position.I liked it when in ac3 you had to at least try a little to position your ship to fire a broadside and when you fired a broadside your canons were not immediately ready to fire again. And only 4 ship types. Were were galleons, sloops, brigantines, barques. And only 2 trading goods in the entire Caribbean, suger and rum, seriously Ubi.And where were the French, was it so hard to put white and blue uniforms on some of the sailors and put a french flag on their ship. But if Ubi manges to fix these issues from Black Flag and improves sailing and naval combat it would be awsome. It's a good feature and it would be a shame to trow it away.Improve it instead!About setting (North America around 1758 with a lot of sailing).I like sailing and ships and French and Indian war would work well.Seeing more of Haytham would be great (for me the best character in entire AC series)and that period would also mean that Achilles could be in it and even old Adewale. It's also said in AC3 that in that time most of the assassin's were wiped out.Could see Shay and do that (Shay in said to be the templar protagonist of Comet) by Haytham's orders, maybe you could be like a spy or double agent pretending to be an assassin but beeing templar working for Haytham (he knows how assassins work he was one of them and he makes a plan to infiltrate you into assassins. It could be like Departed but in 18th century,Haytham is already James Bond of 18th century.Shay is also English so maybe him and Haytham would know eachother from England and he would make a plan to infiltrate Shay into assassins trough Adewale( he heard of Adewale from his father who told him everything about him,so he makes a plan to infiltarte Shay in Adewale's crew, maybe saying he is an old friend of Edward Kenway or that Edward was like father to him,so Adewale except him and than Shay rises trough assassins ranks for years and assassin's dont even know that he is a templar for all these years. After all this years (like 30 years, after the events of AC3 after 1781 Connor discovers that he is a templar. We have a sequel with Connor. You're welcome ubi.About cities and maps.I think they should do eastern seaboard around NY to Nova Scotia all the way trough St.Lawrence river for free sail like thayy did in Black flag with Caribbean. In Comet rumor it's said that that New York City will return.I dont' know how the recycling of the city would work, maybe if the make some other cities to like Montreal,Quebec,Halifax,Newport, than they could add New York and Boston and say we made new cities we only add NY and Boston becuse they fit in time period and setting and it's just a bonus. They could even put New Orleans of Liberation in it.Than that would be a huge map with a lot of city plus saling map and nobody could say that Comet is just AC3 and 4 recycle. And that about everything i got to say about AC "Comet" I ilke the alleged setting and period and i would also like to play as Templar. So that's fine with me, and ubi try to avoid those Forrest Gump moments from the past and just polish the game a bit more and you're fine and AC Comet would be a game that i would buy.I doubt anyone will read this damm I was long.

I like it, if they do make this, I hope they make it for PC, too.<theproclamation> (talk) 05:00, July 30, 2014 (UTC)

That was an impressive post, mate =) I might rival it a bit here! haha But Comet is indeed about a Templar in Haytham & Connor's time. Haytham has been confirmed to be in the game, whether he has a major role to play is yet to be seen. But he WAS Grand Master Templar while he was in the Americas so for him to have a small role would be stupid. & I hope they don't cop out & get some of Haytham's orders in letters - that'd be a waste of having a beloved & fan fave (& brillant VA) charector. I do agree with you on the re-hashing of games. That works fine for kids games like Marior Kart who's fans just want to race but AC has a very complex story & for Ubi to go "We can't leave our Last Gen fans hanging...QUICK! REMAKE THE LAST TWO GAMES BUT SOMEHOW DIFFERENT!" Hahaa. I'm not a massive fan of back-tracking & bringing things from old to the new just because they can. To be honest, the only way I'm going back to my PS3 & leaving my PS4 (& Unity) is if this game is like Haytham's AC3 sections. I'm one of the fans who loves Haytham & couldn't have cared less for Connor. Haytham, & his story, was more interesting & if Ubi can do a brilliant job again if this Shay person, I'll jump of board but so far....Unity has my vote. (RoxyPS (talk) 12:33, July 30, 2014 (UTC))

Comet's existence remains unconfirmed, as does the storyline centering around this "Shay" character. What with rumours flying about a game named Assassin's Creed: Rogue, it's entirely possible Comet is a hoax; all we know is that there's a game coming out of for PS3 and Xbox360 (and likely pc as well).
Personally, I hope none of this Comet rumour is true; if there's a possibility of a female protagonist in an entirely new setting, I'd much rather have that than revisiting Haytham, of all people, and Adéwalé. Besides, colonial architecture was no fun freerunning around on in AC3 (Liberation actually did better in this regard, in my opnion). Crook The Constantine District 12:51, July 30, 2014 (UTC)
This is where I keep saying Aveline's game should've been the main installment, albeit with more polishing to it, and Connor should've had the spin-off. The series would've been better off that way. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 12:57, July 30, 2014 (UTC)
Agreed, Comet should have a female protagonist. Inserting Elise in Unity is not enough for Ubsoft to claim they're supportive of strong female characters. The fact you can't play as them anymore won't be a dealbreaker, but it got a good backlash for sure. I was kind of hoping that you might play as a female protagonist in the present setting of Unity. The concept of playing 'yourself' in Black Flag had potential, but eventually it turned out to be fairly uninteresting imo. -- Altaïr 14:01, July 30, 2014 (UTC)
Speaking of, have you noticed how similar is her outfit, compared to Aveline? The dark overcoat with leathery top over the shoulders and leather bracers, white undershirt, red sash with leather belt over it. Plus the recent poster of her and Arno also closely reminds me of the one with Aveline and Connor together. That said, with the way they're setting up Galina to basically being female Desmond, having learned her skills through the Animus too, being relatively new and possibly having a grudge against Juno in the future, she might become the protagonist. Not saying in Unity, but might be later on. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 14:05, July 30, 2014 (UTC)
Altaïr, Elise is shaping up to be such an integral part of Unity's storyline, there's no way she was inserted as a type of "damage control". And the whole controversy surrounding the lack of female co-op characters was blown out of proportion, in my opinion.
Kain, I actually noticed that as well today. It's the general shape and colour palette of her outfit that is so reminiscent of Aveline's outfit, I think. I don't really mind, seeing as the characters appear different enough, but it's kinda cool :) I hope Galina will cross over into the games, even if she's not a protagonist. Crook The Constantine District 14:43, July 30, 2014 (UTC)
I'm not saying Elise was inserted as some damage control. And I'm glad she's an important part of the story. Personally I think Unity is going to be one of, if not the best Assassin's Creed game since Assassin's Creed II. I just wish Ubisoft would put in a greater effort for more playable female characters in other instalments. So far we only had Aveline, and she wasn't even a playable character in one of the main games, though I am glad they came out with an HD version. -- Altaïr 14:51, July 30, 2014 (UTC)
Oh sorry; it's just, I've seen a lot of people jumping to that conclusion, which is frustrating. But I agree, more female protagonists would be awesome. I mean, Ubisoft can obviously do it well, they just seem scared to have their big AAA franchise star a woman. Which is a shame. Tomb Raider managed it, and that game wasn't even that great. Crook The Constantine District 14:57, July 30, 2014 (UTC)
I know. Calling it a controvery is a clear overstatement. It's just business imo. The fact of the matter is that it's safer to insert a male protagonist. The majority of players of videogames still are male and many do shy away of playing a female character. Just clear sexism, but it does affect the sales of a game. So it's understandable that Ubisoft is just trying to play it safe. Tomb Raider still managed to be successful because of it's success in the past and only because the character was pretty sexualized. (large bosom, bare arms, bare legs). And while Square Enix improved on this by not making her as exposed or giving her a large bosom and such, they manage to profit purely from reputation. I respect Ubisoft that they did not rely on such sleazy tricks with Aveline in order to make Liberation more successful. Though people will never be pleased as they criticized the flirting in the game. Imo that was just a realistic move, because women with not much power would have to rely on using their body and wits to gain success. -- Altaïr 15:29, July 30, 2014 (UTC)
By that logic, every game should just be a Call of Duty clone, because nothing is a safer bet than that. You're right that Ubisoft will be directed by the needs of its business, but some amount of risk is necessary to keep a product from becoming stale. While I do think some of the debate has been overblown, there is value in that portion of Ubisoft's customer base voicing their opinion. The company implemented an entire reporting system in Black Flag to get feedback from their customers; really this is just free market testing. -Molotov.cockroach (talk) 16:55, July 30, 2014 (UTC)

If Comet exists, then it probably involves Tecumseh, whose name could be interpreted as "shooting star". --Alientraveller (talk) 17:21, July 30, 2014 (UTC)

I've read some rumors on the internet that Assassin's Creed Comet (PS3,XBOX360 game) will actually be called Rouge.Maybe Rouge is meant like Rouge Assassin. If that's true than my ideas that I wrote here can become true.Than it will be like Ubi is reading my mind.haha. unsigned comment by 95.176.186.233 (talk · contr)

Don't get your hopes up; Rogue is as much of a rumor as Comet is at this point... Also, I'm not sure why people misspell rogue all the time; "rouge" is a colour, "rogue" is not. Crook The Constantine District 07:01, August 1, 2014 (UTC)
I meant Rogue.Doesn't that mean like an outcast,or someone who is out of control doing on his own.I still think that PS3,XBOX360 game of AC will be similar to AC3 and 4.I've heard some rumors that will be set in ancient Rome, which is very unlikely to me.I don't think they would create  new setting for a last gen game I think that after Unity we'll get direct Unity sequel with Napoleon and Napoleonic wars (around 1800-1815 or even to around 1821). unsigned comment by 95.176.186.233 (talk · contr)
Yeah, that is the correct meaning.
I can see Comet/Rogue/Whatever the hell it's called doing a Liberation - that had its own setting, but it was tangentially linked to Assassin's Creed 3. In that sense, I suppose a direct Unity sequel could be possible, but then it might stand accused of not being different enough from Unity. I'd wager a new setting, linked to the French Revolution in some manner, is more likely, but whether or not that'd be a European one or an American one (or, let us hope, something even more exotic than that), I can't say. Ancient Rome does sound a bit far-fetched though. Crook The Constantine District 07:29, August 1, 2014 (UTC)
Linked to French Revolution. You mean like Haitian Revolution.I've heard of rumor that PS3.XBOX360 game ("COMET") will be with Eseosa (Adewale's grandson) during Haitian Revolution. unsigned comment by 95.176.186.233 (talk · contr)

If they're making a game with Eseosa (which I'm bold enough to say they aren't), there would have been absolutely no point in giving us Eseosa's entire story through Initiates. That's spoiling the entire game. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 08:18, August 1, 2014 (UTC)

They haven't given us the entire story. They've actually left off at the most exciting part. And we still don't know very much about his early years as an Assassin.--Bovkaffe (talk) 09:41, August 1, 2014 (UTC)

We didn't get Altaïr and Ezio's entire stories either, only the notable parts. If you mean Eseosa going after Dessalines, I'm afraid all that he did with Connor was train under him, as EscoBlades pointed out in Eseosa's entry on his Facebook. Seeing as Dessalines was assassinated, and even under uncertain circumstances and how Initiates teased that Eseosa would be going after him, we can pretty much say that Eseosa was the one to deal the blow.

At this point I'm doubting if Comet even exists as well. And to be honest, I would not mind if it didn't, seeing as... well, it costs more, and I fear that when everyone has bought it they'll release an HD version for next-gen/current-gen systems, similar to Liberation. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 09:57, August 1, 2014 (UTC)

Well some last-gen Assassin's Creed game does exist, since they pretty much confirmed it, though that doesn't mean it's Comet with all the rumours attached to it. Tbh I prefer it be not true... All those rumours. Black Flag was great fun, but I don't need another game with sailing. That's one of the many things I like about Unity. I wish they would come out with either something unique or connected to Unity just as Liberation was to Assassin's Creed III, yet for last-gen. We'll see. At this point I had hoped Ubisoft would have revealed it, because they did say it would be revealed soon. Gamescom possibly? -- Altaïr 10:05, August 1, 2014 (UTC)

Not sure they gonna leave saling and naval combat, also because it's confirmed there will be no sailing in Unity. And most people seemed to like it,especially reviewers. And Ubi is know for giving us the same thing for more than just 1 game. So I think there will be saling in "Comet".Just my guess.Needs to be very improved though.

I've just read on 3 different websites that Assassin's Creed Comet (or Rogue) will probably be a game that original rumors claimed it to be (a game with Templar protagonist Shay set in North America with a lot of saling). One is even claming that are 100% sure (VG24/7) and they have some strong arguments. They even mentioned that Shay may be Double agent, which is exectly what i was thinking when i first heared of Comet rumor in April and what i wrote on my post right here.LOL that's crazy. It feels strange. But i guess will have to wait for official anouncment to be 100% sure. unsigned comment by 86.61.4.17 (talk · contr)

I'm mainly annoyed at the fact that so many new characters are introduced to the series, and yet we don't get to hear their full stories.--Bovkaffe (talk) 18:56, August 1, 2014 (UTC)

Would love to see more of Haytham (my favorite character in AC),I was hoping we'll get a game with him as main character or at least dlc.Or a game where he's not playable character, but he has a lot of screen time.Maybe something like I wrote here about ideas for Comet. unsigned comment by 86.61.4.17 (talk · contr)

Could Assassin's Creed Rogue (or Comet,PS3&XBOX360 game) be annaounced at Gamescom which will be in Germany around 15th August?89.142.47.131 11:43, August 4, 2014 (UTC)AK

Most likely, Ubi was probably focusing all their effort into getting Unity all cleaned up for trailers and videos that they didn't have time to make a Rogue presentation. If Rogue is real, they're bound to announce it soon.<theproclamation> (talk) 17:54, August 4, 2014 (UTC)

I find that very unlikely, considering how large the company is. They've got the resources and they know the importance of marketing. The release of Assassin's Creed III didn't hinder marketing for Assassin's Creed III: Liberation. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 17:58, August 4, 2014 (UTC)

Do you think there will be no PS3/XBOX360 AC game this year, because there was no official announcment yet? We know absolutlly nothing about that game, execpt some rumors, nothing from Ubi though, except that they are planing to release PS3/XBOX360 game.

Check my latest blog. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 11:10, August 5, 2014 (UTC)

I've checked your blog.Nice work.It looks to me it's real.It looks great too.It seams that original rumors very true.I'd like to play as Templar, would be very intresting.and the man looks like badass MF.
