Feigardr

Feigardr (Runic: ᚠᛅᛁᚴᛅᚱᛏᛦ) was a prison in southern Vangrinn, Svartálfaheimr. During the Muspel invasion, the prison was utilized as both a torture chamber for the Muspels' prisoners and a stronghold.
History[edit | edit source]
In Eivor Varinsdottir's visions of Odin's time in Svartalfheim, the Æsir lord Havi arrived at Feigardr with the Salakar to trade for his son Baldr. After lighting the beacon, he met with Sinmara while Eysa brought Baldr for the switch. After he grabbed Baldr, Havi soon realized it was a jötunn warrior in disguise. Fighting his way inside, Havi barged through both Muspel and jötnar warriors, even collecting a platinum ingot from a Muspel soldier.[1]
During his break-in, Havi found a chest within a building but it was locked. Finding the key in another house, he went back to the chest, opened it, and acquired another platinum ingot.[2] Breaking into the prison itself, he investigated the cells to find Baldr. Using his Hugr-Rip, he activated the "Power of Jotunheim" and found himself in the meeting room. He collected every key except one. Thus, he inspected the cells for the missing key. During his inspection, Havi found another chest behind the prison cell of a dead dwarf Blinkin. Opening it, he acquired the Dwarven Blacksmith Breeches.[1][2]
Havi also found a scroll page of the heroic saga of the dwarf Gæfuleysi and his boring fight in another cell.[3] Havi then found Calder's notes about his torture on Baldr before finding the last key. Venturing below the prison, Havi became horrified as he saw Baldr dead and cradled in the arms of Frigg's corpse. Sinmara, Eysa, and three Muspel warriors surrounded him as Sinmara told him how he was long dead before his arrival. Before Sinmara could kill him, Eysa tried to stop her and stabbed her arm. However, Eysa died instantly from Sinmara's retaliation as Sinmara ordered her men to kill Havi.[1]
However, Havi quickly killed the warriors and then he chased after Sinmara. Sinmara soon found herself cornered in another chamber below and fought against Havi. After a lengthy fight, Sinmara died while Havi retained the Salakar. In midst of his win, he began to cry uncontrollably and imagined apparitions of Sinmara, Calder, Malvigr, and Glöð in front of him. He began to kill them again and again before he found himself disassociated and in agony.[1]
Through his travels, Havi also found himself a prisoner of Feigardr after half dwarf, half-jötunn Linco knocked him out and gave him to the Muspels, who were unaware of Havi's identity. When he awoke, Havi saw another prisoner Mikke as the dwarf helped him escape in return for a reward and his own rescue. Using his Hugr-Rip, he used the "Power of Muspelheim" as he carried Mikke out over an escape route filled with lava. Outside, he and Mikke made way to a rowboat and escaped the prison to meet up with Linco.[4]
