Evinghou Tower

Evinghou Tower was an abandoned Roman tower in Oxenefordscire, England.
History[edit | edit source]
In 874, the Vikings Eivor Varinsdottir and Sigurd Styrbjornsson and their ally, the Hidden One Basim Ibn Ishaq, followed the paladin Fulke to the tower, which was being used as a refuge by her acolyte, Paul. However, upon arrival, the group found Paul dead and no sign of the Saga Stone he had been tasked to protect. Fulke surmised that Lady Eadwyn must have found Paul's hideout, killed him, and taken the Stone.[1]
At that moment, Eadwyn called out to the group, having returned to the tower with several of her soldiers. Sigurd attempted to negotiate with the noblewoman, who demanded Geadric's head in exchange for the Saga Stone. Sigurd pretended to accept the trade, betraying their alliance with Geadric, but this enraged Eivor, who promptly rejected the offer by killing one of Eadwyn's men. The lady then escaped while Eivor, Sigurd, Basim, and Fulke fought and killed her guards. Following an argument between Sigurd and Eivor, the former left with Basim while the latter spoke with Fulke about weakening Eadwyn's forces.[1]
Sometime later, Eivor ventured into the tower alone and inspected the area. She found a large bandit camped within the tower and incapacitated him. She then looted a nickel ingot from his personal effects, and also climbed to the viewpoint on the top of the tower.[2]
