Boisterous Uncle

Born during the Renaissance, Mario Auditore was the leader of the Italian Brotherhood of Assassins, a condottiero, and the ruler of Monteriggioni, the town in which the Brotherhood had its headquarters.

A boisterous man with a love for drinking and combat, Mario's skills as a tactician and a swordsman were renowned among the Assassins. He was trained from a very young age, and cared deeply for the Brotherhood and his family.

As a mercenary leader, he successfully held off the Florentine army from advancing on Monteriggioni.

When his brother Giovanni and his sons were executed for treason as part of a Templar plot, Mario became responsible for his nephew Ezio's introduction to the Brotherhood and subsequent training as an Assassin.

Near the end of his life, Mario traveled to Spain to extend his support to the Spanish Brotherhood, lending his expertise at Ezio's request and making his mercenary connections available to the Spanish resistance.
