The Château de Chinon is a manor and one of the former residence of Charles VII of France during the Hundred Years' War in Chinon, France.

History[edit | edit source]

After his arrest on 13 October 1307, the last Grand Master of the Knight Templars and Sage Jacques de Molay still held onto the Heart of Eden as to part it from its Sword of Eden. While imprisoned at the Courday Tower within the château, de Molay hid the Heart in his dungeon's wall and left drawings for those who looked for it in the future.[1]

On 6 March 1429, Jeanne d'Arc, accompanied by her entourage of Gabriel Laxart, Jean de Metz, and Bertrand de Poulengy, arrived at the château to find and speak with King Charles VII, whom Jeanne refered as the "Dauphin." Making their way to the king's hall,[2] Jeanne was able to find the king using her "gift" and was able to have a private meeting away from his party. Accompanied by Gabriel, Jeanne talked with the Dauphin and spoke about his future as King and how he must stay his blade from the innocent. An angel appeared in front of both Jeanne and Gabriel, while the angel whispered how Jeanne will make Charles king.[3]

The following day, while the group sparred with each other in one of the courtyards, they were later informed of Antoine Moreau's death and how Jeanne predicted his death when she spoke to him. Meanwhile, Gabriel was initially asked by Jean about what he saw during the meeting but remained silent about it. Within moments, Gabriel was knocked out and brought by Metz to his Mentor as they discussed helping Jeanne as best they can. Confused, Gabriel was informed about their war against the Templars and how to keep his promise to protect Jeanne.[4]

When Gabriel agreed, he was released and was told they were in the dungeon that held de Molay. Alone, he and Metz tried to read de Molay's drawing with Gabriel's Eagle vision but to no success. Nonetheless, Jean gave him his hidden blade while Gabriel asked how to use it. Afterwards, they went outside to meet with Jeanne, who was practicing her jousting. After her training, they were met by the Dauphin and Jean II d'Alençon. Offering gifts, Jeanne replied and said her sword was to be found at Sainte-Catherine-de-Fierbois. Gabriel and de Metz asked to retrieve the sword for her and she accepted the proposal.[5] At some point, Jeanne also finds the location of the Heart in Courday Tower and put it into a pouch around her neck along with her family ring. Unknown to her, it powered the Sword of Eden to its full ability.[6]
