Jasca, I have two questions about your proposal.
1) If fl. is to be used for an individual's peak activity, and especially if there is going to be an "Active" parameter in the infobox separate from "Birth" and "Death", then shouldn't individuals whose birth and death years are known have an "Active" years as well?
2) I'm actually a bit skeptical that we'd actually be able to give accurate estimates for characters' peak years. For one, this is highly subjective if their peak years is taken as broader than the profession of their greatest achievement. For another, can't many characters be presumed to have begun and ended their profession at an unspecified point before and after their appearances? For example, if Caesarion did become a Hidden One, his last appearance at c. 30 BCE when he is being taken away by Amunet should actually be the start date for his "active" years, not his end.
I think we should think of some examples first for how this is going to be done to better gauge its feasibility.
