I'm quite sure that aside from some noble families like the Prince of Monaco, the majority of these descendants are regular people like you and me. Bloodlines are large and complicated.

I agree. Some bloodlines can be downright massive. About 30% of Europeans have Charlemagne, or Charles the Great, as their ancestor. The guy had 10 kids who all survived into adulthood and had kids of their own.

The best example of all would be Edward I of England (also known as "Edward Longshanks" from Braveheart), the guy had 16 kids, almost all of whom survived into adulthood and had offspring as well. It's been estimated that he has nearly 4 million descendants today, most living in the United States, Canada and Brazil.

What I find odd is the whole "descended from Adam and Eve" plotline in the series. In the AC-universe, Adam and Eve lived c. 75010 BC, I'm pretty sure anyone who lived back then would either have no living descendants or otherwise be the ancestor of most, if not all, people living today. Desmond and Clay definitely should be two of millions, if not billions of Adam and Eve descendants.
