The pilum actually resembles a hasta (a hoplite-style thrusting spear) rather than an actual pilum and the awesome-but-handicapped-by-cursed-attribute falcata is actually a Greek kopis (itself based on the Egyptian khopesh).

In terms of armaments, the game has a lot of inaccuracies, the prevalence of bows among infantry being the most egregious. Almost every single soldier in the game has a bow and not only is that inaccurate, it's freaking annoying. In addition, the larger aspis (hoplite) and oblong thureos shields were still in common usage aside the smaller phalangite shields and them not being included for Bayak's use really stinks.

Then there's the fact that 7-foot-tall human beings are way, way, waaaay too common in the series as a whole, but that's another story.
