Guess what I saw... Justin Kurzel, Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard's first collaboration which landed Kurzel the Assassin's Creed movie. It opened in the UK yesterday so naturally I saw it. It is a superb film and undeniably arthouse: I was expecting them to strip out half the verse and emphasise the play's action, but it feels authentically Shakespearean, mournfully paced while exploiting its cinematic nature to provide new insight into these characters.

It's so visceral, the character spit and howl and weep. You may actually feel sympathy for Macbeth in the end. The cinematography is absolutely gorgeous, there are scenes lit solely by candelight, and the ash during the climax... Ridley Scott would be impressed. It just makes Kurzel on AC all the more intriguing.

Here's Macbeth's current release dates across the world (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2884018/releaseinfo?ref_=tt_ql_9), you should all definitely chip in here once you've seen it. If there's already one good thing about the AC movie, it's that it should give you all the incentive to check out this fantastic interpretation of the Scottish Play. Get excited for AC: Kurzel's approach to action is simultaneously lyrical and brutal.<ac_metadata title="Macbeth"> </ac_metadata>
