I was challenged, a few years ago, to do Twilight Princess Link Versus Altaïr. My friend was mostly joking, but we did look at the idea. When we examined it, Link just had too many tools, and he would have out-matched Altaïr easily.

However, Brotherhood Ezio has a lot of tools himself, enough to counter Link. Now, I wouldn't have Link die instantly to a counter-kill, that'd be a short, and weak fight. It'd have to be epic. Hence why Altaïr wasn't a good candidate.

We talked about it recently, and my friend (who challenged me years ago), said that "Ezio's got a lot of tools." I still wasn't going to write until I was walking home from school one day and was overloaded with ideas on how to write the story. So, I decided to start writing it.

Granted, it's not really Link vs. Ezio (mostly), and it's turned into a hunt for the Templars, but there are some Link vs. Ezio scenes in this story. :)
