FTGM, while that's good and all, there could still be some things to tweak. For instance, here's how I might put it:
"June 5th, 1890. The sun was shining brightly and partial clouds filled the blue sky over Belgrade, in the Kingdom of Serbia. But whereas the spring-time painted a tranquil picture, a young, expectant lady was suffering. As the woman strained from the throes of labor, her husband standing loyally beside her, she vainly hoped that she could overcome the agony of birthing her child, but she knew she would only be lying to herself if she was allowed that luxury unattended to.
Meanwhile, as the doctor rushed ever hastily to the scene, the would-be mother's pain endured, prompting her to cry out in anger between contractions. Soon enough however, the doctor arrived, only to feel the force of her tumultuous emotions."
