Vaskr was a female Jötnar archer who lived in Svartálfaheimr.
Biography[edit | edit source]
Not much was known about Vaskr, except her rare relationship with the dwarf, Svass. After some time, near the Jordeygr Shelter, Vaskr was at her wits end as her love for Svass proved impossible, due to the general hatred of Jotuns from the dwarves. Soon, Vaskr was heard by the Æsir lord, Havi, who asked about her well-being. After explaining her predicament, Vaskr asked Havi to enter the shelter undetected. As Havi agreed, Vaskr immediately shapeshifted into a white wolf, much to Havi's disgust. Entering the shelter, Vaskr led Havi to find Svass within the shelter. Soon, Vaskr found and met with Svass, who was elated to see her. Vaskr soon declared her love to Svass, who reciprocated his feelings to her.[1]
However, their embrace was halted once the shelter was under attack by wild wolves. Endangering herself, Vaskr helped Havi defend the dwarves and killed all the wild wolves. Afterwards, Vaskr was accused by the dwarves for the attack, but was opposed by both Havi and Svass. Vaskr was even more heartened, once Svass gave an ultimatum that she either stay or they both leave. Thus, Vaskr was reluctantly accepted as she and Svass were finally allowed to be together.[1]
