Matheno was a friend of Khrsanub, a bandit leader who operated outside Thebes, Egypt during the reign of Cleopatra.
Around 38 BCE, Khrsanub came into possession of a dream scroll after killing and stealing from a farmer named Tapti outside Thebes. With it, Khrsanub helped Matheno interpret one of the dreams he had, which saw him drinking warm beer. Khrsanub interpret it as being extremely bad as it meant suffering, with Matheno having already lost an arm and was mute. As such, Manetho was not pleased with his interpretation.[1]
