Ashraf Ismail

Ashraf Ismail was a developer with Ubisoft who worked as Creative Director on the 2014 video game Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag[1] and held the same position in 2017 for Assassin's Creed: Origins.[2] In May 2020, he resumed the role again for the team making Assassin's Creed: Valhalla.[3] However, amid allegations of infidelity and sexual impropriety in late June 2020,[4][5] Ashraf stepped down from his position, citing personal issues impacting his family.[6]

Following an internal investigation into the charges, Ubisoft formally fired Ashraf in mid-August and he temporarily disappeared from public scrutiny.[7] He resurfaced when news broke in July 2022 that the Chinese technology company Tencent hired him without announcement in 2021 into their TiMi Studio Group in Montreal, Canada to be Lead Developer on an untitled new game.[8]
