Mikke
Mikke was a dwarven blacksmith, who lived in Vangrinn, Svartálfaheimr, and a son of famed dwarven explorer Travi.
Biography[edit | edit source]
Mikke was born to the famed dwarven traveler Travi and had multiple siblings, including his brother Linco, who was half jötnar and half dwarf. Mikke worked as a blacksmith and equipped the dwarven army before the Muspel invasion. However, when the army fell, Mikke was captured and imprisoned at Feigardr after refusing to make weapons for the Muspels. Linco concocted a plan to entrap the Æsir lord Havi to break out Mikke from inside the prison under the pretense of a prisoner delivery for the Muspels, who were unaware of Havi's identity. Mikke and Havi found themselves in adjacent cells, and after Mikke promised to give Havi a hammer that could split mountains, the two worked together and escaped captivity.[1]
Mikke knew the way out but needed Havi's help due to the Hugr-Rip's ability to grant immunity to lava along the escape route. Havi agreed and carried Mikke across the lava and outside to a rowboat. Mikke admitted to the con of the hammer but Havi revealed in turn that he had known it was a farce based on the stories of Mjölnir. Upon arriving at a cliff, Mikke reunited with Linco and thanked Havi for helping him escape.[1]
