Nobles category
Hey Bovkaffe,
Firstly, welcome to the Wiki again :) I know you're not really new, but I figured there's no harm to it. Now, I've seen you post a message on Vatsa's talkpage; he's on here occasionally, but sometimes it takes a little for him to reply (from my experience anyways, which admittedly, has been limited). Your 'nobles' category was probably removed because it was quite broad and not all that needed. I know you're a prolific category maker, but in the future, try to keep in mind whether the category is concrete enough and doesn't encompass half the universe's characters (I'm exaggerating, but you take my point?).
Alright, thanks for reading! You might want to go to Sima or Nesty (or any senior member really) for questions next time :) Crook The Constantine District 22:30, February 26, 2014 (UTC)
I wanted to talk to you about this rather than having an edit war. Privateers are not Royal Navy personnel. They are effectively private contractors who are authorized by a given government to attack foreign vessels. Just like you wouldn't say that the Hessians were British soldiers, you wouldn't say that privateers are Navy personnel. Is there a reason you want to call them that?
(Also, since he's already in the privateer category, that's what you'd want to work with, not Edward's specific page.) -Molotov.cockroach (talk) 22:05, March 8, 2014 (UTC)
Request
When you're done adding the omitted details to the AC4 memories, could you also sweep through AC2 and onward? I started cleaning them up but never got far. AC1 is pretty much complete, since I made every memory page for it personally. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 16:07, June 15, 2014 (UTC)
Rhona Dinsmore in novel?
'ello Bovkaffe,
So on Rhona's page, it said she appeared in the Assassin's Creed Black Flag novel and when I checked, I saw it was you that added that bit of information. If that's so, to what extent does she appear? Like, is the topic of the Templar Hunt brought up or is it just the brief moment in 1722 where she's given the Crystal Skull to safekeep? Is any new information given on her? And for that matter, do any of the other Master Assassins (Opia, Anto, Upton and Vance) make an appearance? Sorry, I'm just curious :p Crook The Constantine District 00:45, June 27, 2014 (UTC)
She only appears when Edward is tracking Torres. And there's no new information about her, sadly. Antó is never mentioned by name, and he doesn't speak either. Opía, Vance and Upton don't appear, since the Templar hunts are omitted.Bovkaffe (talk) 08:07, June 27, 2014 (UTC)
A Single Madman Dialogue
Hey Bovkaffe, it's me again. So I added some dialogue that was missing to the A Single Madman mission, but I couldn't for the life of me hear the lines you included for du Casse. I've replayed the mission several times now but I can't seem to trigger them :s Do you remember in what situation du Casse says this:
What's happening there? See that the cargo is secure! Move your ass and do your job, (son of a bitch!)
Cause I don't know how to make him say it :P I just wanted to double-check and see if that dialogue is actually correct. Thanks for reading, get back to me when you can :) Crook The Constantine District 18:39, June 30, 2014 (UTC)
Really? Well, he says it when you're approaching him on El arca del Maestro.Bovkaffe (talk) 18:42, June 30, 2014 (UTC)
- Bizarre, I've not heard him say that ever, I don't think :s Is it before you enter the yellow bubble/circle? Do you need to approach from water or from land? (sorry if the questions seem silly) Crook The Constantine District 18:49, June 30, 2014 (UTC)
- Not sure. I just checked a walkthrough on youtube, and you can hear Julien. I think he starts talking once you've spotted him (you know, eagle vision).Bovkaffe (talk) 19:06, June 30, 2014 (UTC)
Some things.
Ben Hornigold and Ed Thatch both received Letters of Marque from the British monarch Queen Anne, permissing them to attack and plunder ships belonging to rival navies, before the Treaty of Utrecht came into effect. By extension, as royal privateers of the British Crown, they can be considered under the Royal Navy.
Also, I am a little confused why a category denoting dukes, a masculine term, is used upon Charlotte d'Albret, even though she was Cesare's wife. Would it not make more sense to perhaps alter it to "Duchy of Urbino", despite a duchy being the lands held by a duke or duchess? Slate Vesper (talk) 00:07, July 9, 2014 (UTC)
The reason I was unsure about Thatch and Hornigold was that Molotov.Cockroach made a good point about Privateers(further up the page). Regarding Urbino; I created that cat because Sima had categorized several pages as such. I wouldn't have a problem with a name change.Bovkaffe (talk) 13:38, July 9, 2014 (UTC)
You seem to undid my edit on the page without leaving a reason in your edit summary. So can I ask why? ---TacticalMaster (talk) 22:41, July 17, 2014 (UTC)
I had meant to, but Í'm not sure what happened, and I had already undone your edit. The reason was that optional objectives mean full synchronization. The way the ancestor did it.Bovkaffe (talk) 08:54, July 18, 2014 (UTC)
- The optional objectives are merely just extra mission goals and although it means "how the ancestor did it," the main focus on his background is on the game's story and not on gameplay itself. That's why I made that edit to remove it until you undid it. ---TacticalMaster (talk) 09:12, July 18, 2014 (UTC)
- The game's story and gameplay will inevitably overlap. Full synchronization also allows one to be far more specific when writing articles.Bovkaffe (talk) 09:21, July 18, 2014 (UTC)
- Fine. Whatever. All I'm saying is that gameplay is unimportant for a character's background but it's unclear how does that line I attempted to remove make sense with the main story, as it's just only registered as "side objective." ---TacticalMaster (talk) 10:10, July 18, 2014 (UTC)
Trevor
Hey Bovkaffe, where does it mention the slaver's name as Trevor in the memory A Slaver's Business? From what I can see, there is no mention of "Trevor" in the dialogue. Slate Vesper (talk) 21:19, July 18, 2014 (UTC)
If he escapes on his ship, and you then board it, the objectives list says "Kill Captain Trevor".Bovkaffe (talk) 09:02, July 19, 2014 (UTC)
Orelov
I'm sorry, I'm not trying to start an undo war with you, but I think Orelov should be in a category that reflects his betrayal, even if he did not join the Templars. In addition, the category clearly specifies that the individuals whom are referenced in it deserted the Brotherhood and that some of them have joined the Templars, but not all.Maxattac (talk) 22:36, August 5, 2014 (UTC)
Inner Sanctum
Italics maybe did work, but wouldn't you think that the templar emblem would increse that list's readability? - Sligneris (talk) 11:42, August 8, 2014 (UTC)
Not really. I just think the list looks better with italics, rather than an emblem for every Templar.Bovkaffe (talk) 11:48, August 8, 2014 (UTC)
There are also Templars working at Abstergo who are not members of the Inner Sanctum. Kind of odd to not include a Templar insignia for them. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 18:14, August 8, 2014 (UTC)
Dates
Where are the dates of birth and death for Pythagoras and Damo from? -- Master Sima Yi Talk 18:14, August 8, 2014 (UTC)
I checked the different language versions of the wikipedia articles.Bovkaffe (talk) 18:22, August 8, 2014 (UTC)
Triple agent
"A triple agent pretends to be a double agent for one side, while he or she is truly a double agent for the other side." - from Wikipedia
Lucy never pretended to be the double agent for Assassins - just an agent, since the Templars decided to pretend they didn't know of her background.
First, she started out as an Assassin agent in Abstergo, simple as that. When her allegiance shifted, she became a double agent for Templars - pretending to Assassins she was an agent for them.
She would be a triple agent, if she was loyal to Assassins and ultimately deceived the Templars, but that wasn't the case. - Sligneris (talk) 20:22, August 8, 2014 (UTC)
Alright, point taken.Bovkaffe (talk) 20:29, August 8, 2014 (UTC)
Haytham arrival in America
Hey Bovkaffe,
So, I don't remember when, but I think you posted a comment on one of the blogs, saying the Rogue demos were taking place in May 1754, right? And you said that Haytham wouldn't have been in the colonies yet at that point. I was looking at Haytham's article, but it doesn't say what month he arrived :s Could you get back to me on this? If it's true, we should try and contact the developers behind Rogue so they can fix it (I'm not even sure if that's possible but I figure it's worth a shot). Crook The Constantine District 16:57, August 17, 2014 (UTC)
It's said so in Forsaken. But for some reason, Initiates claims that it was even later.--Bovkaffe (talk) 17:07, August 17, 2014 (UTC)
- Alright, I just checked up on the Welcome to Boston memory (which I should've done earlier tbh), which says he arrived on the 8th of July. Is that date from Forsaken or Initiates? And when does Haytham arrive according to Initiates? Crook The Constantine District 17:11, August 17, 2014 (UTC)
That date is from Forsaken. Initiates doesn't say anything about it, but it claims that he was still on the Providence on the 14th July.
