AC Bloodline Revamp

Status:Under Construction
Description:A total revamp on the mess of an article that is AC Bloodlines (particularly, the Plot section)

---

During the season of fall in 1191, after dealing with the inner strife within the Assassin Brotherhood, Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad leads an assault on Acre's harbor after learning of the Knights Templar's plan to migrate to the island of Cyprus, under the orders of the new Templar Grand Master, Armand Bouchart. Once there, he encountered the Templar Maria Thorpe, De Sable's former steward, and also acted as his decoy during Altaïr's past travels. After subduing Maria, Altaïr makes her his prisoner (after refusing to cooperate). As members of the assassin order take her away, Altaïr learned from one of his allies that the Templar's have recently purchased the island of Cyprus from King Richard, after subduing and imprisoning the island's former emperor, Isaac Comnenus. Suspecting that the Templar's intentions go beyond governance, Altaïr migrated to Cyprus, along with Maria as his prisoner.

The two arrived at Limassol, and as they made their way off of the harbor, they encountered Alexander, the leader of the resistance in Limassol, and also a contact of the assassins. After scouting the city, Altaïr discussed his plans with Alexander. When asked where the Templars were stationed, Alexander pointed him to Limassol Castle. Alexander told Altaïr of a plan to get him inside the castle without anyone noticing. Speaking with a resistance spy, Osman, the man told Altaïr that he will try to lower the patrols stationed inside the castle. The man also made mention of an Archive that is being used by the Templars. When Altaïr asked Osman who could give him more information, he made mention of Frederick the Red, a brute of a man who trained the Templar Knights inside the Castle. After their discussion, Altaïr returned to the resistance safehouse to give Osman some time.

After a short while, Osman was successful in his ploy, which granted Altaïr a way in. Making his way inside, he spotted Frederick training his men at the courtyard. He fought the knight, and managed to defeat him, but Altaïr was unable to learn anything from him. With his target dead, Altaïr leaves the castle and made his return to the safehouse, but as he left the castle, he was greeted by the sight of the safehouse burning down. Making his way to the area, he inspects the area for Maria, but was unable to locate her, meaning she is still alive. Leaving the district, Altaïr made his way to the nearby church, and sees Armand Bouchart announce the death of Frederick. He demanded the people that they bring the murderer to him, but was only replied with silence. Angered, Armand granted his men full-authority until the conflict is resolved. Osman tried to reason with him, but was silenced by Bouchart through the means of death.

As the crowd and Altaïr looked on, Maria made her way to Bouchart, pleading for assistance, and also informed him of the Assassin's presence. Bouchart was then suspicious of Maria's means of escape, remarking that this event was her second miraculous escape from the assassins. Denying the claim, Maria pleaded his case to Bouchart, but was turned down, as the Templar ordered his men to take Maria away, Rescuing Maria, who blamed him for her current predicament, Altaïr took her to his care, and made their way to the harbor to consult with Alexander, who made it safely out of the safehouse in due time.

Alexander revealed that the Templars were headed for Kyrenia after hearing Maria's pleas. After consulting with Pasha, one of Alexander's associates who owed him a debt, Altaïr managed to get inside a ship headed for Kyrenia. Before leaving, Alexander told Altaïr to look for a man named Barnabas, the resistance leader of Kyrenia. After this, Altaïr took Maria with him to Kyrenia. After a brief conflict with some of the pirates aboard the ship, Altaïr made his way to Kyrenia. As he looked for Maria, who fled at the first sign of trouble aboard the ship, Altaïr got acquainted with a member of the resistance named Markos. Leaving Maria to the care of Markos and his men, Altaïr leaves the harbor to look for Barnabas. Locating the safehouse, Altaïr made his way inside, and saw Barnabas, cleaning out the bookshelves.

Asking for help to hunt down Bouchart, he offers the assassin a deal, asking Altaïr to assassinate a traitor to the resistance named Jonas. In return he will get him inside the castle without a single soldier noticing. Agreeing to the man's terms, Altaïr proceeds to scour the city for Jonas. He intercepted Jonas, and told Altaïr that a man named The Bull has put a bounty on Altaïr and Maria's heads. After dispatching Jonas, Altaïr made his way to the harbor to make sure that Maria is safe. He saw her and Markos being harassed by pirates who wanted the bounty. Dispatching the pirates, Altaïr explained that someone called The Bull has put a price on both their heads. Surprised, Maria explained that she knew "The Bull" well, revealing his real name to be Moloch, and called the man a pious fool with arms like tree trunks. After hearing this, Altaïr instructed Markos and his men find a safe route, and make their way to the safehouse with Maria in tow. Agreeing to the terms, Markos and Maria leave the area, as did Altaïr.

Returning to the safehouse, Altaïr reported to Barnabas. The man revealed that because of Jonas' death, a riot has sparked across the city. When asked why would one man's death be enough to spark a riot, Barnabas replied that Jonas was a well-respected Cypriot, but only few knew of his treachery. Altaïr told him that members of the resistance are making their way to the safehouse, and that he should explain himself to them. After this, the two part ways, as Altaïr made his way to the city to quell the riots. After settling with the rioters, Altaïr returned to the bureau, and was greeted by the sight of Markos and Maria (locked behind bars), with Barnabas absent. Markos asked what was the riots all about, to which Altaïr revealed that it was due to the death of Jonas. When asked how he died, Altaïr simply implied that he died bravely. Seeing Moloch as a possible threat, Altaïr sets out on a new task to eliminate The Bull. Hearing this, Maria told the assassin that it was a futile effort, for the Bull is stowed away in an impenetrable fortress called Kantara Castle, as implied by her. Hearing this, Altaïr made his way to the castle, ignoring the thought of it being impenetrable.

Altaïr managed to make his way inside, and located a small chapel within the castle. Making his way inside, he spots Moloch by the altar. After confronting and dealing with Moloch, several of Moloch's fanatics and a few Templar guards made their way inside the castle, greeted by the sight of their master's corpse. Dealing with the guards and fanatics, Altaïr left the castle by jumping off a short wooden platform by the edge of the fortress, landing safely on a hale bay. Returning to the safehouse, Altaïr soon found out that the safehouse was attacked by Templars, and took both members of the resistance, and Maria with them. Appearing before Altaïr, Markos showed himself, and explained the events that transpired. He made mention of a Dark Oracle hidden within Buffavento Castle, claiming that it was the being's powers that gave the Templar's location. Altaïr thought otherwise, and claimed that it was due to Barnabas' treachery, much to Markos surprise.

He revealed that Barnabas died the day before Altaïr's arrival, meaning that the man Altaïr met was a spy. Before he could ask anything, Altaïr was soon tasked to rescue the resistance members, who was all sentenced to death. Dealing with the executioners and the Templars, Altaïr returned to the safehouse. Barnabas revealed that the ones Altaïr rescued was merely a fraction of the resistance, and told Altaïr to look for the others, either in Buffavento Castle, or in the Kyrenia Harbor. Altaïr made his way to the harbor, where he posed as a recently unemployed jail keeper. Meeting with the one of the prison's jail keeper, Altaïr told the jail keeper that a man took his job while on duty, and asked what happened to the resistance members. The man revealed that they were nearby the harbor, and remarked that he hid the key in a nearby fort. Dispatching the jail keeper, Altaïr left the harbor, made his way to the fort, and stole the key.

Freeing the resistance members by the harbor, Altaïr asked if there was a woman with them. One of members confirmed it, but revealed that the woman was taken away by Shalim, the Bull's son, and remarked that she did not go down quietly. Escorting the members out, Altaïr met up with Markos to report the resistance's status. Altaïr warned him of another possible attack, to which he replies that the Dark Oracle was all behind it. Still doubting the possibility of the being's mysticism, Altaïr decided to explore the castle where the being was supposedly imprisoned, in order to know more about it. After this, Markos returned to the safehouse, while Altaïr made his way to Buffavento.

Making his way inside, Altaïr made his way deeper into the fort, where he overheard a conversation between Armand Bouchart and Shalim. Bouchart was reprimanding Shalim for letting Maria off his grasp once more, due to his weakness for women. Asking for forgiveness, Shalim promised to find her. As the two were about to leave, Bouchart handed his officer a small sack and told him to deliver it to Alexander of Limassol. Altaïr was shocked of his discovery, before proceeding to move in further into the castle. Altaïr managed to locate the Oracle's cell, after Bouchart's recent visit. Making his way inside, he was savagely assaulted by the Oracle, a deranged woman wearing black rags. After a rough fight, Altaïr then confronted the woman. After a brief conversation, Altaïr stabbed the woman, and put her to rest. After this, Altaïr left the castle and made his way back to the safehouse.

Altaïr reports to Markos what happened, to which Markos was relieved. Altaïr then asked for information regarding a man named Shalim. Markos told him that he was the son of Moloch, but beyond that, he was uncertain. In order to learn more, Altaïr made plans to eavesdrop on Shalim's business during the day. After locating him, he watched as Shalim harassed the civilians of Kyrenia, and ordered his men to do the same to everyone all over the city. Altaïr made his move to intercept the harassers, and successfully dispatches all of them, saving the citizens of Kyrenia in the process. He then reported the Markos what he had learned, informing him of his brash lifestyle. Markos then suspected that Shalim went to the church often to confess, due to his ways, and tells Altaïr to make his way to the church and ask one of the scholars. Altaïr agrees, and proceeds to the church.

As Altaïr made his way to the scholar, Shalim made a public announcement, complementing the citizen's job well done, and also promises that their work will all pay off soon. Altaïr asked the scholar why Shalim acted so out of character, but the scholar remarked that it was not the best place to discuss the matter. He told the assassin to meet him in a secluded area where they can discuss in private, but when they were about to meet up, the scholar was killed by the debris that was being used for the local construction site. When Altaïr scoured the area, he saw a man clad in Templar clothes fleeing the area. Altaïr tried to give chase, but was unable to catch up.
