Talk:Jayadeep Mir
Name
Are we going to stick by the fake name Henry Green, or will we be using Jayadeep Mir? Considering the many names he goes by in Underworld, Green being one of them, I think it would be appropriate to go with his personal name. Green's just a pseudonym. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 13:07, November 6, 2015 (UTC)
- I don't think that's wise. Everyone knows him as Henry Green, not Jayadeep Mir. It's not mentioned in Syndicate except for in Evie's notebook, which I think anyone has hardly read. GamerSophie (talk) 13:16, November 6, 2015 (UTC)
- That's not an issue; we'd set up "Henry Green" as a redirect to the new article. Anyone searching for Henry Green would simply be directed to Jayadeep Mir instead. --Jasca Ducato (talk | contributions) 13:20, November 6, 2015 (UTC)
- I just typed up a sizeable paragraph explaining why we should keep it under the current name, and then I realised the example I was going to give to support it didn't apply. Since we appear to be naming articles on a case-by-case basis, I would suggest we follow the precedent set with Ratonhnhaké:ton and move it to his birth name. Whilst his birth name is only ever mentioned twice in Syndicate (the higher tier of canon) and that's only in the database entry, and Evie's notebook, and he doesn't ever officially relinquish the name at all. That being said, I also wouldn't consider his use of the Green name as that of a pseudonym; it's not concealing his identity, or the fact that he is an Assassin (to those who are aware of the Assassins, at least). It's simply a westernised name, like "Connor". --Jasca Ducato (talk | contributions) 13:17, November 6, 2015 (UTC)
Actually Henry Green is very much a pseudonym used to conceal his identity. Like "the Ghost", it's one of several pseudonyms he used. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 14:10, November 6, 2015 (UTC)
- Yes: 1843, Born Jayadeep Mir... 1860,, then stripped of his identity and codenamed The Ghost... then used Bharat Singh to infiltrate the Templars... 1862, discovered, so he stopped to use the Singh name... 1865 his mother gave him a new alias, Henry Green. Henry Green during three years, Jayadeep during seventeen... I vote for changing the page to Jayadeep. In addition, we use their birth names on the pages of Al Mualim, El Cakr and Connor, so why not do the same for Henry?Maxattac (talk) 15:19, November 6, 2015 (UTC)
