A wanted poster of Ezio by the Pazzi.

Wanted posters are featured in Assassin's Creed II as part of the notoriety system, a new upgrade to the Social Stealth system. Each poster clearly states that the Pazzi will award 50,000 florins to anyone who kills or captures Ezio Auditore. Since these posters are used to alert each town's citizens of Ezio's identity, Paola teaches Ezio that he can reduce his notoriety by removing wanted posters.

Once Ezio reaches a minimum of 1% notoriety, wanted posters are featured on the map as locations of importance. Wanted posters can be torn down by simply interacting with them, and each torn down reduces Ezio's notoriety by 25%. Strangely, many wanted posters are in unlikely and not easily viewable locations, such as on balconies or across the walls of a tower, essentially defeating the purpose of publicly displaying Ezio.

One must be careful when tearing down wanted posters, however, since if guards are nearby and see Ezio removing one, the notoriety meter will increase by a small amount.

The wanted poster spawn locations aren't at all as random as one might think. Tearing down a wanted poster, and immediately increasing your notoriety close by will likely cause it to simply reappear in the same location.

Trivia

  • In Assassin's Creed II: Discovery, the player can use their own photo in place of Ezio's own wanted posters, using the DSi's camera feature.
  • "Morti di vivo" is an incorrect Italian translation of the phrase "dead or alive." It should instead be "vivo o morto."
  • The posters state that the Pazzi family will offer a reward, even after they have been defeated by Ezio.
