Vieri de' Pazzi
- "I'm sorry, were you hoping for a confession?"
- ―Vieri, seconds before his death
Vieri de' Pazzi (1454-1478) is a Pazzi nobleman and secretly a Templar. He appears to be a close enemy of Ezio and is coincidentally a Templar as well as the latter's second victim. He is a cruel man who liked nothing more than to win. He would call for competitions against other noble families, competitions which were rigged for his victory. In the slim chance that he loses, he invites the winner and his family to dinner and poisons them by serving them a meal "to die for".
Assassin's Creed II
He was apparently an enemy of Ezio for the reason of Giovanni using evidence against Vieri's father (as stated by Maria Auditore, when Ezio goes to meet Leonardo for the first time). The two always seemed to fight each other like in Sequence 1, where Ezio, his brother and other people fight Vieri and his men. During the fight Vieri hits Ezio in the face with a rock, giving Ezio his scar in the same place as Altair and Desmond. Eventually, Vieri loses the fight and runs away. Vieri and Ezio don't see each other again until Ezio is trying to escape Florence with his mother and sister. Vieri meets them on their way to Monterrigioni and attempts to kill them. However, he is thwarted in his attempt when Ezio's uncle, Mario Auditore, appears with mercenaries to protect the family.
The next time they meet, Ezio has been training as an assassin for a year and teams up with his uncle Mario to kill him. He is seen consulting with his father Francesco, his great-uncle Jacopo, and the Templar Grandmaster Rodrigo Borgia about the plot to murder the Medici brothers. Vieri decides to stay behind to defend San Gimignano and kill Ezio. After several fierce battles, Ezio and Vieri meet face to face again for the last time. Vieri and Ezio fight for a short time until he is fatally stabbed, ending the fight with Ezio as victor. Before he dies Ezio demands Vieri for answers but Vieri, arrogant to the end, insults Ezio in the form of a question and dies. After Vieri dies, Ezio slanders and curses his corpse and name, but is stopped by Mario. Mario tells Ezio to stop it since he is not like Vieri, and shows the deceased Vieri respect by offering words of blessing and closing his eyes.
Final Words

Ezio: What are you and your allies planning? Is this what my father discovered? Is this why he was killed?
Vieri: I'm sorry, were you hoping for a confession?
(Outside the animus scene.)
Ezio: Pezzo di merda! Vorrei solo che avessi sofferto di più! Hai avuto la fine che meritavi! Spero che bru- (Piece of shit! I only wished you'd suffered more! You met the fate you deserved! I hope yo-)
Mario: Enough, Ezio! Show some respect!
Ezio: Respect!? After all that's happened!? Do you think he would have shown either of us such kindness?
Mario: You are not Vieri. Do not become him. Che la morte ti dia la pace che cercavi (May death provide the peace you sought). Requiescat in Pace (Rest in peace).
Trivia
thumb|350px|right|Vieri de'Pazzi database video.
- Strangely, Vieri's birth date appears to be 1454, whereas his father, Francesco, is 1444. There is likely an error in the database with one or both of their ages.
- Vieri is the one responsible for Ezio's scar, caused from a rock thrown from Vieri in the beginning of Sequence 1 in Assassin's Creed II.
