Asclepius, also known as Aeclepiadae, was a hero and god of medicine in Greek religion and mythology. He was a son of Apollo and the father of Hygieia.

During the 1st century BCE, the Greeks erected a temple in Balagrae, Cyrenaica in worship of him.
