Town crier
| This article is about the civilians. You may be looking for the memory. |

We do this together or not at all. It has been proposed that this page be merged with Herald and Munadi, under the article: Herald. Discussion to this effect can be held on the former article's talk page. |

The Town crier was a public announcer of the 18th century. In the Colonial America times they advertised from newspapers to rewards for suspects or guilty of any crime. The Kanien'kehá:ka Assassin Ratonhnhaké:ton could bribe the criers in Boston and New York, in order to reduce his notoriety.[1]
Trivia
- Unlike heralds in Italy and Constantinople, town criers could not be pickpocketed after being bribed.
- The criers did not attract crowds of civilians, and some held up newspapers.
