Takasago

Takasago (高砂市) is a city situated in the southern Kakogawa Estuary in Harima, Japan.

History

In 1582, the Kakushiba ikki members Fujibayashi Naoe and Yasuke traveled to the city and met with the merchant Hiromichi to ask for his help to secretly infilitrate Miki Castle. Offering to help, Hiromichi tasked them to kill one of Bessho Harumasa's lieutenant stationed at the shrine, who was to replace him, and to secure his business. The pair agreed and later assassinated the lieutenant at an atakebune off the shore. Returning back into Takasago, they told Hiromichi of their success, which led the merchant to agree to smuggle Naoe into the castle undetected.[1] While there, the pair also financed and set a kakurega in the city.[2]
