Ségdae
Ségdae was an Irishwoman and the mother of Bárid mac Ímair with Ímair.[1]
Biography
Ségdae met Ímair abandoned on the road to Clonfert and soon entered a relationship with him, travelling with him to "the land among the Danes" where she gave birth to Bárid.[1]
Circa 879, as her health deteriorated, Ségdae and Sadhbh, Bárid's wife, went on a pilgramage to the Pyrenees, hoping the waters there would heal her.[2] With the waters improving her state, both Ségdae and Sadhbh wrote to Bárid, who they missed greatly.[1][3]
